What is the property valuation request form template?

Whether an owner is thinking of selling, remortgaging, sorting out an estate or simply curious, a valuer needs the same starting information: where the property is, what kind of property it is, its size and condition, what's been done to it and anything that might affect its value. This template collects that in three short pages.

It also asks why the valuation is wanted — a market appraisal for a sale is a different conversation from an insurance rebuild figure or a probate valuation — and how it should be done: in person, over a video walk-through, or as a desktop estimate. Only visits ask for the best days and times, and owners can add access notes and upload photos or a floor plan.

Make the template yours

Tips for a better property valuation request form

  • Call the owner to confirm the appointment rather than relying on the preferred times alone
  • Research comparables using the size, condition and improvements before the visit
  • Ask about anything listed under value factors early — it's better discussed than discovered
  • Be clear about what kind of valuation you're giving, especially for probate or lending
  • Keep the request with the valuation you issue, so the basis is on record
