How to connect

Three steps, about a minute.

  1. Turn on AI apps in FileItSign in, open Settings → AI apps, and switch it on. It's off until you do.
  2. Add FileIt to your AI appIn Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. In other apps, look for custom connectors or MCP servers. Use this address:

  3. Approve itYour AI app opens FileIt. Sign in, choose what it may do, and click Allow. Then just ask.

Security & privacy

You stay in control.

An AI app sees only your account, and only what you allow. You can disconnect it at any time, and changing your password disconnects every app.

Questions

Which plans include it?

Premium and Enterprise. The account owner turns it on in Settings → AI apps.

What can the AI app do?

Read your documents' details, people, entities, folders and reminders. If you allow it, it can also open the files themselves, edit a document's details, add a person or add a reminder. It can't delete anything, share, email anyone, or change your settings, plan or password.

Who sees my data?

The AI app you connect receives what it reads from FileIt, to answer you. That provider's own privacy terms apply to it. FileIt never sends your data to an AI app you haven't connected.

How do I disconnect an app?

In FileIt, open Settings → AI apps and click Disconnect, or switch AI apps off to end every connection at once. Changing your password also disconnects every app.

Can my team members connect apps?

Not yet. Only the account owner can connect an AI app.

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets AI apps connect to services like FileIt. Claude, ChatGPT and many other apps support it.
