What is ОБР-0120 old-age pension claim?

ОБР-0120 is the claim form for the old-age pension (старосна пензија) paid by Serbia's Republic Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (Републички фонд за пензијско и инвалидско осигурање, the PIO Fund). It asks where you are claiming, in Serbia and/or abroad, and for your personal details. It then covers every way you were insured: employment, self-employment, farming, benefits from the National Employment Service, voluntary insurance under Article 15 of the PIO Act, and insurance in the former Yugoslav republics and other countries.

The Fund's old-age pension page gives the 2026 conditions. Men qualify at 65 with at least 15 years of insurance, and women at 64 with at least 15 years. Anyone with 45 years of insurance qualifies at any age. The form also asks whether you already use a PIO right, and whether you agree to a provisional pension amount based on the data in the Fund's records. It ends with a checklist of the evidence you attach.

Who needs to fill out ОБР-0120 old-age pension claim?

• People insured with the Serbian PIO Fund who reach the old-age pension conditions and want their pension to start.
• People who were also insured in a former Yugoslav republic or another country and want those periods taken into account, or a pension claimed there too.
• Former self-employed people and farmers, who give the periods and places of their activity.
• Relatives helping an older family member prepare the claim. The claimant still signs it.

When to use ОБР-0120 old-age pension claim

• When you meet the conditions for the old-age pension and want to claim it.
• For an early old-age pension (превремена старосна пензија), the Fund's forms page lists a separate claim form.

What you need before you start

• Your 13-digit JMBG, any earlier JMBG or number the Fund knew you by, and your personal insurance number from your employment record book.
• Your date and place of birth, your citizenship(s) and your address from your identity card.
• The dates of your military service, if you served.
• Your last employer's name, address and phone. Periods, places and types of any self-employment or farming.
• Any periods of National Employment Service benefits or voluntary insurance under Article 15, with the PIO branch.
• The countries you were insured in, with each period, its basis (employment, self-employment, farming or residence) and any written proof.
• Evidence: proof of identity, of your insurance periods, of the end of employment, of military service, and Tax Administration certificates of contributions for self-employment or farming.
• For payment, one of: a bank's confirmation of your current account, a guardianship decision, a decision on placement in a social care institution, or a power of attorney. You don't need this if the Fund already pays you.

How to fill out ОБР-0120 old-age pension claim, step by step

1 А / Б Where you claim

Say whether you claim the pension in the Republic of Serbia and whether you also claim abroad. If you claim abroad, name up to three countries.

2 I Подаци о подносиоцу захтева

Give your surname, parent's name and first name, and any previous surnames. Then give your JMBG, any earlier numbers the Fund knew you by, your personal insurance number, your date and place of birth, and your citizenships. Add your address as on your identity card (or green card, MUP certificate or residence certificate), a phone and email, and the dates of your military service.

А: employment, with the employer you last worked for. Б: self-employment, with up to two periods, each with its place and type of activity. В: farming, with up to two periods and places. Г: National Employment Service benefits, with the period. Д: voluntary inclusion in the compulsory insurance under Article 15 of the PIO Act, with the period and the PIO branch.

А: the republics of the former SFRY, and Б: other countries. For each, give up to three countries and up to three periods, each with its basis of insurance and whether you attach written evidence. В asks whether you are insured abroad now, and Г whether you already have a right from a foreign pension insurer.

5 9 Rights and choices

Say whether you already use a PIO right in Serbia, and which one. Then say whether you agree to be paid the more favourable pension if you become entitled to two or more, and whether you agree to a provisional amount based on the data in the Fund's records. Part III asks whether you want the Fund's letters in Braille.

6 IV Докази

Tick the ten kinds of evidence you attach, and list the item numbers you will obtain yourself. Otherwise the Fund may obtain facts held in official records itself. Write the place and date, and sign in the yellow box.

Common mistakes to avoid

• Giving only the current JMBG when the Fund knew you under an earlier number. List earlier numbers in 2б so your records are matched.
• Leaving out periods abroad or in the former Yugoslav republics. They can count towards the pension.
• Forgetting the payment document. Since 1 January 2019 the Fund pays pensions only to the beneficiary's current account or to the institution they live in.
• Leaving out the Tax Administration certificate of contributions for periods of self-employment or farming.
• Using this form for an early old-age pension, which has its own claim form.

After you fill it out

Sign the claim and hand it in to the PIO Fund with the evidence you ticked and one of the payment documents. FileIt does not send it anywhere.

Keep the completed PDF and copies of your evidence in your FileIt vault. If you agreed to a provisional amount, the Fund may first issue a temporary decision based on its records.
