What is PSC07 Ceasing to be a PSC?
Form PSC07 tells Companies House that someone who was registered as a person with significant control (PSC) over a UK company, typically because of their shares or voting rights, no longer is. It also covers a relevant legal entity (RLE) or an other registrable person (ORP) that has stopped being registrable. An LLP uses LL PSC07 instead.
You give the company's details, the individual's or entity's details as they currently appear on the public register, the date they ceased, and the date the company had confirmation of that. Someone with authority to act for the company prints their name to authenticate it. No signature is needed on this edition.
The form carries a warning: don't use it if any individual PSC is applying, or has applied, for protection from having their details disclosed on the public register. It says to contact [email protected] for the correct form instead.
FileIt asks only for the section that applies, checks the company number and that the dates make sense, and prints your answers into Companies House's own PSC07 PDF (Version 4.0, 11/25). Accented and Eastern European letters print correctly. If you need the paper form, FileIt prepares it and saves a copy in your vault. You upload or post it yourself; FileIt never files anything for you.

How to fill out PSC07 Ceasing to be a PSC, step by step
1 Company details
Enter the company number (8 characters) and the full company name, as on the register.
2 Individual's current details
For an individual PSC: the month and year of birth (voluntary, but it helps Companies House find the right person and is put on the public record), title (optional), forenames and surname, all as on the register.
3 RLE's or ORP's current details
For an entity: its name as it appears on the public register. Complete section 2 or section 3, not both.
4 Date ceased
The date the person or entity stopped being a PSC, RLE or ORP. Only one can be named per form.
5 Date of confirmation
The date the company had confirmation (a) that they ceased and (b) of the date in section 4. If those dates differ, give the later one.
6 Authentication
The person authenticating prints their name: a director, the secretary, a person authorised under section 270 or 274 of the Companies Act 2006, or one of the office-holders listed on the form.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Filling in both section 2 and section 3. Use the one that matches who ceased.
- Giving a confirmation date earlier than the date ceased.
- Naming more than one PSC on the form.
- Using PSC07 for an LLP. That's LL PSC07.
- Using this form when a PSC has applied for protection of their details.
After you fill it out
Print the PSC07 and check it. Companies House says you can upload certain forms instead of posting them; if you post it, send it to the address for where the company is registered (see gov.uk/companies-house/offices). FileIt doesn't send it for you.
Update the company's own PSC register too, and keep the PSC07 and the evidence of the change (a stock transfer form, say) in the company's FileIt folder.
If someone new now has significant control, notify that separately (PSC01 for an individual).
