What is CH02 Change a corporate director's details?
Form CH02 tells Companies House that the details of a corporate director, a company or firm acting as a director of a UK company, have changed. It covers three kinds of change: a new name, a new principal office address (the address on the public record), and new legal details such as its legal form, governing law, or the register it's on and its number there.
You identify the corporate director by its name as currently on the register, give the date of the change, and fill in whichever change sections apply. Someone with authority to act for the company prints their name to authenticate it. No signature is needed on this edition. An individual director's changes go on form CH01 instead.
FileIt asks only for the parts you switch on, checks the company number, the date and the address, and prints your answers into Companies House's own CH02 PDF (Version 7.0, 11/25), with accented and Eastern European letters printed correctly. If you need the paper form, FileIt prepares it and saves a copy in your vault. You upload or post it yourself; FileIt never files anything for you.

How to fill out CH02 Change a corporate director's details, step by step
1 Company details
Enter the company number (8 characters) and the full company name, as on the register.
2 Current details
The corporate director's name as currently shown on the register, so Companies House can find the appointment.
3 Date of change
The date the details changed. Then fill in the sections for what changed.
4 Name and address
Section 4 takes the new name. Section 5 takes the new principal office address, which appears on the public record.
5 Legal details
Section 6 takes any change to the legal form, the governing law, the register it's entered in (including the state) and its new registration number. If you give the register, you must also give the number.
6 Authentication
The person authenticating prints their name: a director, the secretary, a person authorised under section 270 or 274 of the Companies Act 2006, or one of the office-holders listed on the form.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Putting the new name in section 2. Section 2 is the name currently on the register.
- A principal office address that's a DX or LP number, or a bare PO Box.
- Naming a new register without the registration number.
- Using CH02 for an individual director (CH01) or a corporate secretary (CH04).
After you fill it out
Print the CH02 and go through the checklist on its last page. Companies House says you can upload certain forms instead of posting them; if you post it, send it to the address for where the company is registered (see gov.uk/companies-house/offices). FileIt doesn't send it for you.
Once accepted, the register shows the new details. Keep the completed form in the company's FileIt folder.
