What is UDK 310 — Adoption grant?

UDK 310 is Udbetaling Danmark's Danish paper form 'Søg om adoptionstilskud' — the application for the adoption grant. According to borger.dk the grant is a one-off, tax-free amount per child (DKK 66,132 in 2026) for parents who adopted their child through Danish International Adoption (DIA) and have come home to Denmark with the child. DIA stopped mediating international adoptions on 16 January 2024, so borger.dk says you can still apply if you have already adopted through DIA and arrived in Denmark, but otherwise the grant can't currently be applied for.

The form asks about you, your work and residence, your spouse or partner, the child (or two siblings adopted together) and the date the child was handed over to you. After you sign, the Family Court (Familieretshuset) fills in its own box with a stamp, date and signature, confirming that the child has arrived in Denmark and was placed through an organisation approved by the Minister of Justice. Udbetaling Danmark prefers the digital application on borger.dk; the pink stamp on the PDF says so and doesn't print.

  • Parents who adopted a child from abroad through Danish International Adoption (DIA) and have arrived in Denmark with the child.

How to fill out UDK 310 — Adoption grant, step by step

1 Dine oplysninger (your information)

Name, CPR number, address and phone number. The bold warning under it says that a non-EU/EEA national with a Danish residence permit as a student or PhD student must not receive public support, and risks having the permit withdrawn.

2 Dine bopæls- og arbejdsforhold (residence and work)

Where you work (in Denmark, abroad, both, or not working) and, if abroad, where. Then your spouse's or partner's name and CPR number, whether you have lived or worked in Greenland or the Faroe Islands in the last 10 years (enclose documentation if yes), and whether you are a refugee with a residence permit under section 7, 8 or 9b of the Aliens Act.

3 Oplysninger om dit barn/dine børn (the child)

The name and CPR number of the adopted child — two rows if you adopted siblings together — and the date the child was handed over to you (dato for overdragelse af barnet).

4 Samtykke, dato og underskrift (consent, date and signature)

By signing you consent to Udbetaling Danmark exchanging information with other authorities, employers, banks and so on when needed to handle your case. Page 2 explains what information may be exchanged and what happens if you don't consent.

5 Familieretshusets underskrift (the Family Court's box)

Not for you to fill in. Familieretshuset stamps, dates and signs here to confirm that the child has arrived in Denmark and was placed through an organisation approved by the Minister of Justice.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Posting the form without the Family Court's stamp and signature.
  • Leaving out the handover date.
  • Filling in the Family Court's box yourself.
  • Typing a CPR number wrongly — the first six digits are the date of birth (DDMMYY).
  • Forgetting documentation if you have lived or worked in Greenland or the Faroe Islands in the last 10 years.
