What is a vehicle wrap agreement?
Most wrap disputes come down to three things: a typo on a printed van that the customer approved, paint that lifted because it had been resprayed, and peeling that turns out to be pressure-washer damage. A vehicle wrap agreement deals with each before the job starts, so the shop and the customer know where responsibility sits.
This template records the vehicle, condition notes from the quote, the type of wrap, coverage, film and finish, and who designs it. It requires written approval of a proof before printing, with optional revision rounds, and explains colour variation and logo permissions. It sets out clean delivery, inspection with photos, and the honest limits of film on repaired or weathered paint. It covers drop-off date and turnaround, care of the vehicle while at the shop, optional storage charges, price, design fee and deposit, care and professional removal, and an installation warranty in months separate from the film maker's warranty.

Tips before you send it
- Photograph the vehicle at drop-off, especially repaired panels. The agreement refers to the inspection and photos.
- Don't print until the customer has approved the proof in writing. Errors in an approved proof are the customer's cost under this template.
- Hand over written care instructions at collection. The warranty excludes damage from pressure washing and harsh chemicals.
- Check whether a colour change has to be reported to a vehicle registry or insurer where the customer lives, and tell them to check.

Vehicle wrap agreement: frequently asked questions
Who is responsible if paint comes off when the wrap is removed?
The shop is not responsible for paint damage that comes from the paint's existing condition, such as resprays, repairs or failing clear coat. It is responsible for scratches or cuts it causes through carelessness.
What does the warranty cover?
Lifting, peeling and bubbling caused by installation, for the months you set. Film defects like fading or cracking are covered by the manufacturer's own warranty, and the shop helps with the claim.
What if there's a mistake in the design?
The customer checks and approves a proof before printing. A mistake in an approved proof is corrected at the customer's cost; if the installed wrap doesn't match the approved proof because of the shop's error, the shop corrects it at its own cost.
Is removal included?
No, unless you write it into the scope. The agreement recommends professional removal within the film maker's recommended period.
Can it be signed electronically?
Yes. E-signatures are generally valid for service agreements like this in the US, UK, EU and Canada. FileIt keeps an audit trail with the signed PDF.
