What is a valet parking services agreement?
When a guest hands over their keys, the host's reputation goes with them. If a car comes back scratched, or the lot was one nobody had permission to use, the host gets the complaint. A valet parking agreement settles who does what before the event: how many attendants, where cars go, how keys are kept, what insurance covers, and how a damage claim is handled.
This template works for one-off events and regular service at a restaurant, hotel or venue. It records the drop-off point, hours, expected cars, number of attendants and parking area, and who gets permission to use it. Attendants are licensed, record-checked and trained, with driving rules. Claim tickets note visible damage, keys stay in a watched lock box, and cars are only released against a ticket or proof of ownership. You set the insurance limit and the reporting window for damage, with an investigation process and exclusions for pre-existing damage and valuables. The template also covers hourly, flat, per-car or monthly rates, the tips policy, permits, free cancellation days, a late cancellation charge and weather.

Valet parking services agreement: frequently asked questions
Who pays if a car is damaged?
The valet company is responsible for damage or theft while cars are in its care caused by its attendants or its failure to follow the agreement. Guests report damage within the window you set, and the company investigates and replies in writing.
What isn't covered?
Damage present before drop-off, mechanical failure the attendants didn't cause, and valuables left in cars.
What if a guest has lost their ticket?
The car is released only to someone who proves they own it or are authorised to drive it.
Can attendants refuse a car?
Yes, if it can't be parked safely. Where the law allows, they may also delay returning a car to a driver who appears clearly unfit to drive, and the supervisor may offer to call a taxi.
Is the template free?
Yes. It's free with FileIt eSignature, and the client signs from the email link without an account.
