What is RF-1569B - Declaration of a marriage contracted abroad?
If you married outside Norway, the marriage isn't automatically in the Norwegian National Registry (Folkeregisteret). To have it registered, Skatteetaten asks for this declaration, RF-1569B 'Erklæring om mitt ekteskap', for every marriage contracted abroad. It uses your answers to decide whether it can register the marriage itself or must send the case to the County Governor (Statsforvalteren) to assess whether the marriage can be recognised.
The form has seven short parts: your details, your spouse's, where and when you married, whether you were both present at the wedding, whether either of you was already married, kinship questions, and a signed confirmation. The kinship questions about cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces apply to marriages after 31 December 2024. Skatteetaten's form page says to post it with the original marriage certificate.
FileIt guides you through RF-1569B in English with the Norwegian question text beside each item, checks national identity numbers against the dates of birth, checks that the 'after 31 December 2024' answer matches the wedding date, and prints everything into Skatteetaten's own PDF. The finished PDF is saved in your FileIt vault, ready to sign and post. FileIt never sends anything for you.

The place (vigselssted), country (vigselsland) and date (vigselsdato) of the wedding. Dates print as dd.mm.yyyy.
3 4-5 Presence and earlier marriage
Say whether you were both physically present at the wedding, and whether either of you was married to someone else when you married each other. Each answer is an X in the JA or NEI box.
4 6 Slektskap (kinship)
Say whether your spouse is your sibling, parent or child, and whether you married after 31 December 2024. If you did, three more questions follow about cousins, aunts or uncles, and nephews or nieces. FileIt checks the date answer against your wedding date.

Skatteetaten's form page says to send it with the original marriage certificate (vigselsattest).
Why are there extra questions for marriages after 2024?

Can I fill it in online?
Yes. FileIt lets you answer in English and prints into Skatteetaten's PDF, free on every FileIt account. You sign it by hand and post it yourself.
