What is 7597 Reporting form for foreign nationals (changes in your situation)?

Form 7597, the 'Reporting form for foreign nationals', is how a foreign national with a Dutch residence permit reports changes to the Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst (IND). Permit holders have an obligation to provide information: a change that can affect their right of residence has to be reported, and the form says a change must be reported within 4 weeks after it starts.

The form covers leaving the Netherlands (or leaving soon), no longer having a sponsor, changing sponsors, no longer living with the sponsor when this wasn't reported to the municipality's Basic Registration of Persons (BRP) in time, and any other change. Depending on the situation you then give the new sponsor's details (a person, or a company or institution), your new address in the Netherlands, and the date of the change.

FileIt explains each part, pre-fills your name and date of birth from the People in your FileIt vault, checks BSNs, V-numbers, postcodes and dates, wraps your comments onto the form's lines, and prints the answers in block letters into the IND's own English PDF. The finished form is saved in your vault, ready to sign and post.

How to fill out 7597 Reporting form for foreign nationals (changes in your situation), step by step

1 1 Your personal details

V-number and BSN (if known), surname and first names as in your passport, sex and date of birth. The form asks for block letters; FileIt prints them in capitals.

2 2 The change you want to submit

Tick each situation that applies. Each one points you on: leaving the Netherlands to part 5, no sponsor or no longer living with the sponsor to part 4, a new sponsor to part 3. If several apply, use Comments to say which and give the date for each. If you no longer live with the sponsor, say why. A last box lets you report any other change in your situation.

3 3 Details of the new sponsor

For a person, fill in 3.1 to 3.8 (part A). For a company or institution, fill in 3.9 to 3.14 (part B), including the Chamber of Commerce number.

4 4 New address

Your new address in the Netherlands and whether it is a secret address.

5 5 Date of change

The date from which the change takes or will take place.

6 6 Signing

Your name, place and date, and the signature, by you or by a person authorised for this purpose. By signing you confirm the form is truthful and that you know the change may affect your right of residence, and that the IND can revoke your permit if you no longer meet its conditions.

7 7 Submitting the reporting form

The form goes by post to the IND in Ter Apel. If your residence permit expires within 4 months, the IND sends a confirmation of receipt. You can tick that you don't want one, or give another address for it.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Reporting late. The form says a change must be reported within 4 weeks after it starts.
  • Ticking several situations without explaining in Comments which apply and the date of each.
  • Ticking 'I changed sponsors' but leaving part 3 empty.
  • Filling in both 3A and 3B. Use A for a person and B for a company or institution.
  • Not saying why you and the sponsor no longer live together, when you tick that box.
  • Forgetting to sign the form before posting it.

After you fill it out

Print the finished PDF from your FileIt vault and sign at 6.3, or use FileIt's eSignature before printing.

Post it to Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst, Postbus 16, 9560 AA Ter Apel. FileIt does not submit anything for you.

Keep the filled copy in your FileIt vault next to your residence permit, so its expiry date and the reminders stay in one place.
