What is 1310 proof of sponsorship / private accommodation?
Inviting family or friends who need a visa to visit the Netherlands? Their visa application usually asks for proof of where they'll stay and who covers the costs. Form 1310, 'Bewijs van garantstelling en/of particuliere logiesverstrekking' (Proof of Sponsorship and/or private accommodation, with French as well), is the IND's standard document for that. You state clearly whether you give the visitor accommodation, act as sponsor (garantsteller), or both.
As sponsor you guarantee payment of the costs of the visitor's stay, medical care and repatriation, for up to 5 years or the shorter length of the stay, up to EUR 10,000 a year, insofar as the State or public bodies would otherwise bear them; you need an income and enclose proof of it. If you are married or in a registered partnership, your spouse or partner consents to the guarantee. Your signature, and your partner's for a guarantee, is placed in front of a municipal officer and legalised. You then send the form to the visitor, who submits it with the visa application.
FileIt asks the questions in English, wraps your reason and relationship answers onto the form's lines, checks BSNs with the eleven test, and prints everything into the IND's own PDF, ready to take to the municipality. Your details can be pre-filled from the People records in your FileIt vault, and the finished PDF is saved there. FileIt never sends the form anywhere.

How to fill out 1310 proof of sponsorship / private accommodation, step by step
1 1. Garantsteller / logiesverstrekker (you)
Your identity, civil status, 10-digit phone number, home address, BSN and document number. The date of birth, phone, postcode and BSN go in their boxes.
2 2. Partner (for a guarantee)
If you're married or in a registered partnership and you act as sponsor, your spouse or partner gives their details and consents to the guarantee.
3 3.A Accommodation
Say whether you provide accommodation, then give the reason for the invitation, the length of the visit in days, weeks or months, and your relationship to the visitor. FileIt fits the text onto the four printed lines.
4 3.B Guarantee
Say whether you stand guarantor. The form lists the income proof: payslips for the last three months, or for the self-employed a Chamber of Commerce extract, the latest final income tax assessment and a profit and loss account, or a recent benefit statement.
5 4. Visumplichtige vreemdeling (the visitor)
The visitor's details as in the passport, including nationality at birth, civil status and home address.
6 5. Ondertekening (signature)
Give the place and date you'll sign. Don't sign at home: sign in front of an authorised municipal officer, who legalises the signature in boxes 5.5-5.7.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Signing before going to the municipality; the signature must be placed in front of the officer.
- Forgetting your partner's consent and signature for a guarantee when you're married or registered partners.
- Answering 'no' to both accommodation and guarantee.
- Not enclosing proof of income for a guarantee.
- Planning a stay longer than a short-stay visa allows.
After you fill it out
Take the printed form and your ID (and your partner, for a guarantee) to your municipality to sign and have the signatures legalised.
Send the legalised form to the visitor, who submits it with the visa application and the other supporting documents.
Keep the PDF FileIt saves in your vault, together with your income proof.

What's the difference between accommodation and a guarantee?
Accommodation (3.A) means the visitor stays with you. A guarantee (3.B) means you cover the costs of the stay, medical care and repatriation, up to EUR 10,000 a year, insofar as public bodies would otherwise pay. You can do one or both.
Why must the signature be legalised?
The form says the signature must be placed in front of a municipal officer and legalised; for a guarantee, your partner's signature too. That isn't needed if the visitor doesn't need a visa.
How long does the guarantee last?
For 5 years or the shorter length of the stay, from the visitor's entry into the Schengen area. It ends once it's shown that the visitor left the Schengen area.
Can I fill it in online?
Yes. FileIt lets you answer in English and prints into the IND's trilingual PDF, free on every FileIt account. You sign it at the municipality.
Does FileIt send the form to the visitor or the embassy?
No. FileIt never sends anything. You send the legalised form to the visitor yourself.
