What is TA.2/S-0138 (household employee registration)?

Modelo TA.2/S-0138 (Solicitud de alta, baja o variación de datos del trabajador/a por cuenta ajena en el Régimen General - Sistema Especial para Empleados de Hogar) is the form of Spain's General Treasury of Social Security, the Tesorería General de la Seguridad Social (TGSS), for household employment. The employer, a private person who hires someone to work in the family home, uses it to register the employee (alta), end the registration (baja) or report a change of details (variación de datos).

Page 1 covers the employee and the employer (names, Social Security numbers, identity documents, addresses and contact details), the request and its date, the working hours and contract type, the pay (by the hour, monthly, in kind, hours of presence and overnight hours), and for a new registration whether the employee cares for a large family and any kinship with the employer. Page 2 holds the bank account for the monthly direct debit of contributions, the address for notifications and both signatures. Page 5 is a receipt the office stamps.

FileIt explains every box in English with the Spanish terms alongside, shows only the parts that fit your request, checks DNI and NIE letters, Social Security numbers, the contribution account code and the IBAN, and prints the answers onto the TGSS PDF in capitals, digit by digit where the form has boxes. The finished PDF is saved in your FileIt vault. FileIt does not submit anything.

2 2 Solicitud (request)

Mark alta, baja or variación de datos, the date, the reason for a termination or change, the end of unused paid holidays for a termination, and the documents you enclose.

3 3 Persona empleadora (employer)

Your details, identity document, contribution account code and address, which is also used for notifications unless you choose another in section 8.

4 4-5 Actividad laboral y retribución (work and pay)

6 7-9 Direct debit, notifications and signatures

The IBAN for the monthly contributions (with the holder's details if they are not you), the date of the mandate, where notifications go, and both signatures.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Writing in lower case or with corrections: the instructions ask for typing or capitals without crossings-out.
  • Entering anything other than 160 monthly hours for a full-time contract.
  • Leaving out the bank account on a registration: the instructions say the direct-debit account is compulsory.
  • Forgetting the replaced worker's Social Security number on a replacement contract (410 or 510).
  • Only one of the two parties signing: the form's signature is compulsory for both employee and employer.

After you fill it out

Print the form, have the employee and the employer sign it (and the account holder in section 7), and hand it in to the TGSS with the documents listed in its instructions. FileIt does not submit anything.

Keep the stamped receipt, the employment contract and the TGSS resolution in your FileIt vault, alongside your employee's monthly payslips.
