What is UDK 442 — Housing benefit joint liability declaration?

UDK 442 goes with a Danish housing benefit (boligstøtte) case. Housing benefit is worked out for the whole household, so the people who live with the recipient give their figures too. The form lists up to four household members with their CPR numbers, and for each person over 18 their current income before tax, deductions, capital and share income, and wealth and debt.

On page 4 each adult signs two declarations. In the first they declare on their honour (på tro og love) that what they gave about their wealth is correct. In the second they declare that they are jointly and severally liable (hæfter solidarisk) if the household is paid too much housing benefit while they live there, which means that together with the others in the home they are liable for the whole amount that may have to be paid back. They also consent to Udbetaling Danmark obtaining and passing on information relevant to the case.

FileIt guides you through the form in English with the Danish terms, prints the amounts neatly into each person's column and the names into the declarations, handles letters such as ł, ș or ø, and saves the PDF in your vault. Everyone signs by hand and the form is posted. FileIt never sends anything to Udbetaling Danmark.

  • Giving income after tax. The form asks for current income before tax, with the AM and ATP contributions deducted from personal income.
  • Mixing monthly and yearly figures. The rows from employer-administered pension down are kroner a year.
  • Leaving out wealth that isn't in a bank, such as cash, a car or money lent to family.
  • Forgetting the documentation for compensation and damages.
  • An adult in the household not signing both declarations on page 4.

After you fill it out
