What is UDK 153 — Early pension payment (udbetaling af tidlig pension)?
Danish early pension (tidlig pension) comes in two steps. First you apply for the right to it, on UDK 151 or digitally, and Udbetaling Danmark sends you a decision. Then you apply for payment. UDK 153 is the paper version of that second step. The guidance says you decide when payment starts, as long as you apply at least two months before the date you want.
Most of the form is about checking the facts payment is based on. You say whether your salary before retiring is paid in advance or in arrears, which tax card to use, and whether you agree with the pension statement (pensionsopgørelse) Udbetaling Danmark sent you. If you don't agree, you list the changed or missing pensions with their company, yearly payment and fund value. You also report anything that has changed since you got the right: citizenship, work or living abroad, self-employment. Finally you can opt out of foreign pensions and ask for compensation if you were on efterløn or fleksydelse before 2022.
FileIt explains each question in English with the Danish wording alongside, types your answers into Udbetaling Danmark's own PDF, including names of foreign pension funds and addresses with letters such as ł or ș, and saves it in your vault. You print it, sign page 3 by hand and post it. FileIt never sends anything to Udbetaling Danmark.

The date you want payment to start, whether your salary is paid in advance (forudbetalt) or in arrears (bagudbetalt) or you have no salary, and whether to use your main card (hovedkort/frikort) or secondary card (bikort).
3 Pensionsopgørelse (pension statement)
Say whether you agree with the statement. If not, list up to four pensions with type, company, whether it is being paid out, the expected yearly payment and the fund value (depotværdi). Changes include starting a payout, schemes not on the statement and extra payments into a pension. Enclose documentation.

5 Pension fra udlandet (pension from abroad)
Applying for Danish pension automatically applies for pension from other EU/EEA countries and Switzerland where you have rights. You can opt out here. The form warns this may affect other Danish benefits such as personal supplements.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Applying less than two months before the start date you want.
- Answering 'No' to the pension statement without listing the pensions, or without enclosing documentation. The form says early pension can't be paid until the statement is confirmed or the changes are documented.
- Reporting again the time abroad you already gave on UDK 151. This form only asks about the period since you got the right.
- Opting out of foreign pensions without thinking about personal supplements and other Danish benefits.
- Missing the compensation deadline. If you say no now, the form says you must ask at the latest 2 months after moving to early pension.
After you fill it out
Print the PDF from your FileIt vault, check it, and date and sign page 3 by hand.
Post it with the pension documentation to Udbetaling Danmark, Kongens Vænge 8, 3400 Hillerød.
The guidance says Udbetaling Danmark then works out whether you can be paid and tells you how long you can receive early pension, or explains why not. A compensation decision comes 3 months after payment starts. Keep the letters with the form in your FileIt vault.
