What is SKV 7665 - Moving abroad notification?

SKV 7665 is the Swedish Tax Agency's (Skatteverket's) notification of a move abroad. If you plan to live outside Sweden for a year or more, page 2 of the form says you must notify the move no later than one week before the planned moving date. You will then be registered in the Swedish population register as having emigrated from Sweden. If you will live in both Sweden and another country, Skatteverket assesses your registration from all the circumstances.

One form covers the whole family: you list the personal identity number and name of everyone moving, including children, then say why you are moving, your employer abroad, your new address and move date, how you will live, your current Swedish address, and whether you will still own or rent a home in Sweden. Page 2 also notes that you may still be liable to pay tax in Sweden after being deregistered, and that the information you give is used to establish whether tax liability exists.

FileIt guides you through the form, pre-fills your name and email from the People in your vault, checks every personal identity number, and prints your answers into Skatteverket's own PDF, saved in your vault. You sign it by hand and post it to the address printed on it — FileIt never sends anything to Skatteverket. Skatteverket also offers an e-service for this notification.

How to fill out SKV 7665 - Moving abroad notification, step by step

1 Personal identity numbers and names

List everyone participating in the move, including children: personal identity number and full name. The form asks you to underline the name you are addressed by; do that by hand on the printout. Use another form if more than six people are moving.

2 About your move

Answer whether you plan to live outside Sweden for a year or more, why you are moving (work, school, moving back to your home country and so on), and your employer while you live abroad.

3 Your address outside Sweden

Up to three address lines of 35 characters and the country, then the move date (printed as YYYYMMDD) and, if you are moving to a Nordic country, the municipality. Tick how you plan to live: owned flat or house, rental, guest house or hotel, or another type of home.

4 Your current address in Sweden

Your street address and postal number and city today. Say whether you will still own or rent a property or home in Sweden after the move, and give the property designation for a property you own.

5 Signature

Each person signing prints their name clearly and gives a phone number and email. For a child under 18 the custodial parent signs, and both parents sign if they share custody; children aged 16 or older may sign the notice themselves.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Sending it too late. Page 2 says to notify no later than one week before the planned moving date.
  • Forgetting children or other family members who move with you — everyone moving must be listed.
  • Only one parent signing for a child whose parents share custody.
  • Using this form for a stay of less than a year, or when posted abroad by the Swedish government.
  • Assuming deregistration ends Swedish tax liability. Page 2 warns you may still be liable to pay tax in Sweden.
  • Address lines longer than 35 characters — the form's boxes allow 35.

After you fill it out

Print the form and sign it by hand; anyone else who must sign does the same.

Post it to Skatteverkets inläsningscentral, FE 2001, 839 86 Östersund, Sweden, as printed on the form. FileIt doesn't send it.

If the move is cancelled or postponed, tell Skatteverket no later than the moving date you reported.

Keep the signed copy in your FileIt vault with your other moving documents.
