What is ZUS ERPO pension recalculation request?

ERPO (Wniosek o ponowne obliczenie świadczenia emerytalno-rentowego) asks the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) to recalculate a pension or disability pension it has already granted - or one granted by an insurance institution of an EU or EFTA state, the UK, or a country with which Poland has a bilateral social security agreement. On zus.pl it is listed as wniosek-zus-er-wps-01.

The form lists the ways a benefit can be recalculated: with contributions recorded after it was granted, with a recalculated initial capital, by adding periods, by using earnings from the most favourable or chosen years, with the minimum wage for undocumented periods, with an extra pay component, with foreign insurance periods, with the most favourable life expectancy, under the new rules for people born before 1949, or with periods of political imprisonment or repression. You tick each one you want.

FileIt explains each option in plain English, checks your PESEL and the years you choose, makes sure each free-text answer fits its box, and prints everything in capitals into ZUS's own PDF. The finished form is saved in your vault. You print, sign and hand it in yourself.

How to fill out ZUS ERPO pension recalculation request, step by step

1 Your details and addresses (Dane wnioskodawcy)

PESEL, first name, surname, optional phone number, home address, your last address in Poland if you live abroad, and a correspondence address only if ZUS should write elsewhere.

2 The benefit concerned (Dane dotyczące świadczenia)

The kind and number of the benefit and the ZUS unit that pays it. For a foreign benefit, its kind and number and the country and institution that decided it.

3 What you ask for (Zakres wniosku)

Tick each way you want the benefit recalculated. For earnings, choose the most favourable amount or list the years: 10 consecutive years from the 20 just before the year you apply, or 20 years from your whole career before that year.

4 Foreign periods (zagraniczne okresy)

If you ask for foreign periods to be counted or a foreign benefit recalculated, give the country of your last insurance abroad - an EU / EFTA state or the UK, or a country with a bilateral agreement.

5 Special cases

Born before 1 January 1949 with a pension under the old rules: you can ask for the new rules, if the conditions on the form apply. Political imprisonment, repression or internment: you can ask for the average wage for those periods.

6 Attachments, reply and signature (Załączniki, sposób odbioru odpowiedzi)

Give the number of documents attached. If you will deliver more, say which ones - the form says within 14 days, after which ZUS decides on what it has. Choose how ZUS replies, date it and sign by hand.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Listing earnings years that don't follow the form's rule: 10 consecutive years from the last 20, or 20 years before the year you apply.
  • Forgetting the country of last insurance abroad when asking for foreign periods.
  • Promising further documents and not delivering them within 14 days.
  • Not ticking any recalculation option.
  • Leaving out the benefit number.

ZUS ERPO pension recalculation request: frequently asked questions

Which earnings years can I choose?

The form says: 10 consecutive calendar years chosen from the 20 calendar years just before the year you apply, or any 20 calendar years from your whole working life before that year. FileIt checks the years you list against this.

Can I ask for several recalculations at once?

Yes. Tick every option you want; ZUS considers each.

Is ERPO the same as wniosek-zus-er-wps-01?

Yes. zus.pl links the file as wniosek-zus-er-wps-01, and the PDF itself prints the code ERPO.

Does it work for a foreign pension?

Yes, for a benefit granted by an institution of an EU / EFTA state, the UK or a country with a bilateral social security agreement with Poland, as the form says.

Will my pension go up?

Not necessarily. ZUS recalculates and decides. FileIt doesn't estimate the result.

Do I sign by hand?

Yes. The form has a box for a legible handwritten signature.
