What is Cerfa 15726 - standard PACS agreement?
A PACS (pacte civil de solidarité) needs a written agreement between the two partners. Service-public.fr says the agreement must be written in French and carry both signatures, and that you can either write your own or use the standard agreement, cerfa 15726. Service-public lists the form as free.
Cerfa 15726 takes each partner's identity, then three choices: whether material support between you is in proportion to your means or a fixed yearly amount (article 1), whether you keep separate estates, the legal default, or jointly own what you acquire after registration (article 3), and whether you register at the mairie of your shared home or at a French consulate abroad (article 4). Its other clauses are fixed, including joint liability for everyday debts and joint taxation.
FileIt asks each question in English, prints the answers into the official cerfa (accents and letters such as ł or ș included) and keeps the PDF in your vault. Both partners sign it by hand and bring it with the joint declaration, cerfa 15725. FileIt never submits anything.

Do we have to use cerfa 15726?
No. Service-public.fr says you can use the standard agreement or write your own, for example with a lawyer or a notary. The agreement must be in French and signed by both of you.
What is the difference between cerfa 15725 and 15726?
Cerfa 15725 is the joint declaration with your sworn statements. Cerfa 15726 is the agreement itself, the convention-type, which you use unless you bring an agreement you wrote yourselves.
What does 'séparation des patrimoines' mean?
Each partner keeps what they own and what they acquire. Service-public.fr says this is the legal default when the agreement says nothing else. The alternative on the form is joint ownership (indivision) of what you acquire after registration.
Who keeps the signed agreement?
You do. The form says the convention-type is returned to the partners and the civil registrar keeps no copy.
Can we sign it electronically?
FileIt prepares it for handwritten signatures. Both partners sign the printed form.
