What is SKV 4402 - Preliminary tax notification for foreign workers?

SKV 4402 is the Swedish Tax Agency's (Skatteverket's) notification for preliminary tax. As printed at the top of the form, you use it if you are not registered in Sweden but are in Sweden for a period of six months or longer and work here. It tells Skatteverket who you are, how long you will stay, where you live in Sweden and in your home country, and who you work for, so that preliminary income tax (A-skatt) can be handled for your work in Sweden.

The form lists what to enclose: a copy of your work permit if you are not a citizen of an EEA country or Switzerland, a copy of your LMA card if the Swedish Migration Agency issued you one (it does not prove your identity), a document that confirms your income such as an employment contract, and — if you have no Swedish personal identity number or coordination number — a copy of your passport or national ID card proving your identity.

FileIt guides you through the form, pre-fills your name and email from the People in your vault, checks a Swedish personal identity or coordination number and the employer's corporate identity number, and prints your answers into Skatteverket's own PDF, saved in your vault. You sign it by hand and send it to your Tax Agency office yourself — FileIt never sends anything to Skatteverket. Skatteverket also has an e-service for this notification.
