What is Form MR 35 (certificate of no marriage record)?

If you plan to marry outside Hong Kong, the authorities there may ask for evidence that you are free to marry. Hong Kong's Marriage Registry searches its records and, if it finds no marriage registered in your name, issues a Certificate of Absence of Marriage Record. If it finds one, you get a letter of marriage record instead.

Form MR 35 asks for your name and any alias, sex, date of birth, identity card or travel document, nationality, which number to print on the certificate, whether you ever registered a marriage in Hong Kong, your present marital status, why you need the certificate (voluntary), and how to reach you.

FileIt fills the 09/2024 edition into ImmD's own PDF, in block letters with the identity card number split into its boxes. The acknowledgement is left blank because you sign it when you collect the certificate.
